PB3A

PB3A
Nowadays, health becomes a significant issue in the society. Everyone, the elder and the younger, wants to be healthy but few actually know how to live a healthy life. I found a scholar article that focuses on the healthy life style from the UCSB library: Successful intervention models for obesity prevention: The role of healthy life styles (Healthy life style). In this article, the author shows 12 basic methods that can prevent obesity in a circle graph. In order to persuade more people to live a healthy life, I would like to transform this scholar article into two genres—Facebook posts and newspaper—the former one for the young people and the latter one for the elder.
To convince the young people of the healthy life, I would firstly transform the detailed statistics into two pictures as the main body of the post: one picture of a handsome boy with beautiful muscle and strong figure and the other picture of a lovely girl with long-gold hair, big-blue eyes, and slim figure. After all, the young people are adolescent when people desire “love” most. A picture that contains a perfect opposite sex can easily persuade most young people. What is more, I would change the long and boring title of the scholar article into a concise and exciting headline, like “Let’s be healthy right now!” Most young people like the style of being simple and direct. Furthermore, I would cut out all the detailed information and deductive process. Young people live in a life with fast pace. They feel boring to check the long process.
Next, to persuade the elder who do not use the Internet frequently, I will transform the scholar article into a newspaper. Firstly, I will emphasize that the author is a PHD and he is an experienced and famous expert in the health field. Most old people are more willing to believe the authority than to check the results of a person that is not “official”. Secondly, I will reserve the detailed statistics as much as possible for the reason that most old people are retired and stay at home all day. They have much time to study the health. Detailed data would increase the credibility of the newspaper after they spend a lot of time studying the data. Thirdly, I would add an introduction of every term. For example, when I read “A Cochrane systematic review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for preventing obesity”, I was wondering what is Cochrane system. I will add a description from Wiki to explain this term. To persuade the elder, the article should be clear enough, giving all the detailed information if necessary, and seemingly authoritative.
In a summary, young people like conciseness and visualization; old people like official methods and detailed information. This is the core reason for my transformation.

answers for wednesday class

Q1:  I think I did well in WP2. The most happy thing is I finally organize it well. To be more specific, I delete a whole paragraph and transform it to several sentences as the thesis statement. I think the new thesis statement are like the leaders of my paper. My paper is more clear. The unhappy thing is I did not know whether it would be better to add a summary at the end of my paper. What I decided is to not add a summary.

Q2: Actually, almost every comment is helpful for me. Because there are a number of grammar mistakes. My teammates help me to find them and I was really happy to find them.

Q3: I think the digital one is better. Because you can find one comment and one sentence or word to match each other. That is very clear. If we comment on hard copies, it would be hard to figure out the match.

WP3: I think this is the best prompt among the three WPs. Transforming is very interesting. We learnt How to read like a writer. This time, we will write like a reader, to find our particular audience. I like his WP very much.

Young: memes, blogs, youtube comments, Facebook comments, Instagram photos
Old:    newspaper, announcements, big books, stamps,

"This is your world, your creation.” So, the artists are all firstly know what they want to create clearly. Then, they use brushes to stretch colors on papers in a specific shape.

The first one is simple-color and happy. Because he only uses one color and uses less techniques.
The second one is simple-color but highly-technique. Because he uses simple color but too many moves on his hand that a common people can't do.
The third one is "academic". Because you need to go out to look into a tree, and use many different brushes and colors. Very complicated but most delicate.
